The Whitstable Biennale was set up in 2000, growing out of an existing local arts festival. The Biennale has always been international in scope, aiming to present the best contemporary art to local and national audiences.
On Sunday 29 June 2008, Portable Radio visited Whitstable and spoke to Sue Jones, director of Whitstable Biennale; Serena Korda, commissioned artist exhibiting in the Biennale this year with her project The Library of Secrets; Angela Johnson, local retiree and writer; and Michaela Wenkert, shoe designer recently released the 'Lady Double You' collection.
