Founded in 1976, Quay Arts is the major arts venue on the Isle of Wight. Located in Newport, the 'county town' of the island, their building underwent extensive redevelopment in the late 1990's and now incorporates music, visual arts, live performance, theatre, artist studios and an extensive gallery education programme.
On Tuesday 4 November 2008, Portable Radio visited Newport and spoke with Mick Smith, director of Quay Arts, Jeni Saunders, island resident and volunteer at Quay Arts and Martyn Cutler, co-owner of ethical gift shop Daisy Daisy in Godshill.
